Special Funds

We are helping to get Sawyer PointePone water filters to children and families in Haiti. The January 2010 earthquake left hundreds of thousands without access to clean water. These $50 water filters purify 5 gallons of water in 20 minutes and last a lifetime. This is a great one-time gift that keeps on giving life. Cost includes filters (made in Haiti) and delivery. When you click "add" and go to the shopping cart, put "10" in "quantity" to make the amount $50 for one water filter.  Also, for "code" type "water filter."

Your contributions to this fund go directly to relieve ICCM-sponsored children and rebuild ICCM facilities in Haiti in the aftermath of the January 12, 2010 earthquake.

Special Project money is a very important part of our ministry. These funds provide care for children beyond that which is provided through regular sponsorship. Some of our sponsored children with special medical needs are provided medicines or treatments.  We also open new schools with money from our Special Projects Fund.  It's necessary for us to guarantee a school a specified number of students for them to be able to plan and implement a budget.  Until we get that number sponsored, we advance money from the Special Projects Fund to get the school opened, equipped, and functioning properly. Your gift provides special care for children in need and also provides the funds necessary for our program to grow.

Contributions to the Haiti Food Fund make it possible for us to feed nearly 20,000 children at our 54 schools in Haiti. The global food crisis has hit Haiti very hard and the inflation rate for basic food staples like rice and oil has made it impossible for many people to feed their families. Our pastors asked us, "How can we feed some of the children in our church and not feed all of them?" They were referring to feeding only the sponsored children while those not sponsored were going hungry.

The Haiti Food Fund was established to enable us to feed as many children as possible in the Free Methodist Church for as many days as the supplies last.  We've been feeding thousands of unsponsored children ever since this fund was begun.  Your gift allows the Haitian children in our schools to continue to eat nourishing food that fuels their growth, education and future.

There is a desperate need in Burundi, a tiny country in central Africa.  Some people in our churches have starved to death.  At our Kibuye Hospital in central Burundi, we have a food production area called the Busoma Factory.  Busoma is the name given to a cereal made from corn, soybeans, and sorghum.  We've been giving the cereal to widows and orphans in our churches to help them overcome malnutrition.  The Busoma Factory provides thousands of children nourishment to save them from starvation. Your gift keeps these young children alive.

Hope Street School in Davao serves children who roam the streets of this city in the Philippines. Your gift helps provide education, food and care for these needy children.

We currently have more children in our hostels in India than we have sponsored.  We don't want to turn them away because of the Christian influence they receive in the hostels.  The children come primarily from non-Christian homes.  We take in as many children as space allows in order to help them attend school and to reach them and their families for Christ.  International Child Care Ministries doesn't have the funds to feed all of the children while we're gaining sponsors for them.  Your gift provides Indian children with food for their stomachs and hope for their futures.
